The movement and migration are important phenomenon in Chinese population growing and social development. Many migrant laborer’s children came to the city with their parent. They live and study in the city and form a huge group called ‘migrant children’. Childhood is an important stage of rapid growth and development of children’s physical and mental health, but also a stage of multiple mental health problems. The reconstruction of living-environments and social relations due to the movement and migrant have a significant impact on the physical and psychological health of migrant children. As the internal and external factors to protect the physical and mental development of migrant children, social support and psychological resilience are important to migrant children’s social emotional health. Negative emotions, which is a non-negligible index, will bring negative effects on the social emotional health of migrant children. This paper intends to investigate the effects of migrant children's psychological resilience and negative emotions on social support and social emotional health, and to conduct a comparative study between urban migrant school students and urban public-school students, to provide theoretical support for the study. In this study, ‘Social support scale SSRS’, ‘Social emotional health scale SEHS-E’, ‘Psychological resilience scale CD-RISC’ and ‘Positive and negative emotion scale’ were used to investigate a total of 685 primary school students in 3 migrant schools and 921 primary school students in 3 public schools. The main results are as follows:(1) Compared with ordinary urban children, migrant children have significant differences in social support, psychological resilience, negative emotion and social emotional health. The social support, psychological resilience and social emotional health level of migrant children are all lower than that of ordinary urban children, while the negative emotional level is higher than that of ordinary urban children.(2) Social support had significant positive correlation with social emotional health. Social support had positive correlation with psychological resilience, while psychological resilience had positive correlation with social emotional health. Therefore, Psychological resilience plays a partial mediating role between social support and social emotional health. (3) Negative emotions were negatively correlated with social support, psychological resilience and social emotional health. The negative emotions of migrant children have a regulating effect on the mediating model of social support-psychological resilience-social emotional health. The adjustment path is the direct path and the first half path.As can be concluded based on the results above, the social emotional health level of migrant children is worse than that of the ordinary urban children, and social support and psychological resilience are probably the main reasons for the differences. Therefore, the investment in social support for migrant children should be increased. Some reasonable measures should be taken to improve their psychological resilience. Thereby their social emotional health level can be improved. Moreover, Pay more attention to their negative emotional regulation. Attention should be paid to the regulation of negative emotions and vigilance should be paid to migrant children with high negative emotions, whose social support may have a negative effect on psychological resilience.
