The effect of occupational identity on occupational delayed ratification of male nurses: Chain mediating effects of self-esteem and perceived social support
In recent years, under the influence of global public health emergencies, the work status of all medical staff in a high-intensity, high-risk and high-pressure work environment has attracted widespread attention, and the professional development of medical staff has received attention from managers,There are common problems such as serious job burnout, insufficient work investment, and high work pressure among medical staff, especially for a special group in the nursing team, male nurses in the operating room. Both personal development and the achievement of organizational goals are of great significance. Existing studies have begun to explore the relationship between occupational identity and occupational delayed gratification, and found that occupational identity has an important impact on occupational delayed gratification. The perceived level of social support also contributes to occupational delayed gratification. Therefore, studying the relationship between occupational identity, self-esteem, perception of social support and occupational delayed gratification among male nurses in the operating room can further explore the factors that affect the occupational delayed gratification of male nurses in the operating room, so that the male nurses in the operating room can develop stably and advance for the hospital. Targeted management provides theoretical basis.
This study conducted a questionnaire survey on 249 male operating room nurses in Hebei Province using the "Nurse Professional Identity Rating Scale", "Self-Esteem Scale", "Perceived Social Support Scale" and "Occupational Delayed Satisfaction Scale" and found the following conclusions: in conclusion:
1 .The professional delayed satisfaction level, professional identity level, self-esteem and perceived social support level of male nurses in the operating room are all at medium levels, and the total scores and items of the four variables are positively correlated.
2. The level of professional identity of male nurses in the operating room can positively predict the level of occupational delayed satisfaction (95% confidence interval 0.26-0.38); It can also influence the level of occupational delayed satisfaction through three indirect pathways, and the mediating role of self-esteem (95% confidence interval 0.02 to 0.07); Understanding the mediating effect of social support (95% confidence interval 0.01一0.05); Self-esteem and perceived social support were linked mediators (95% confidence interval 0.01 to 0.02).
The results showed that professional identity, self-esteem, perceived social support and delayed professional satisfaction were positively correlated among male nurses in room. Professional identity had a direct effect on delayed professional satisfaction, and would affect delayed professional satisfaction through the chain mediating effect of self-esteem and perceived social support.
